Prayer

The vision of FIRE's prayer ministry is to help facilitate a "culture of devotion," modeled after the church in Antioch in Acts 11 and 13. It was "while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting [that] the Holy Spirit said..." We, too, seek to become a true house of prayer as a lifestyle, and also as an intentional strategy. We accomplish this through times of equipping for prayer, scheduled prayer meetings, corporate meetings devoted to crying out in worship and intercession, and encouraging our home groups to devote time to special prayer every month.

We are passionate about prayer because we're passionate about the Lord. He is the object of our devotion, and our love for Him is the fuel of our prayers. So our goal is to instill a vision deeply in the heart of our whole congregation to make prayer their supreme priority until it is a lifestyle. Our reason for this, primarily, is because it is our scriptural mandate from Jesus Himself: "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations" (Mark 11:17; Isa 56:7; see also John 2:13-17). We are a royal priesthood, and we want to live up to that graciously-given identity. But fervent prayer is also FIRE's distinct heritage, having been birthed out of the Brownsville Revival. The foundation, heart, and soul of that revival was the Brownsville church's radical intercession for divine visitation and souls that preceded the revival, and continued to support it to the end. Fervent prayer is in our spiritual DNA. It's part of our identity, and we know that God does not move outside of its sphere of influence. Finally, when God first birthed FIRE in Pensacola, good friends of our ministry who were also devoted intercessors told us prophetically that "God would not allow anything you do to succeed if it is not birthed and bathed in prayer." So with our mandate for revival and revolution, as well as a word like that, we have no choice but to "devote ourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving" (Col 4:2)! Please join us.

Children

The FIRE Church Children's ministry seeks to help children grow in their relationship with Jesus. We desire to see our children encounter God's presence during every meeting. The cry of our hearts is for the children to have a personal revelation of Jesus Christ that enables them to experience the depth of God's love for them, and to learn who they are as children of God. As they grow in these areas, they will be more prepared to hear God's voice, minister to others, pray with passion, worship God freely, and so much more.

We have the following classes at our Sunday and Thursday evenings:
Nursery (infants and 1-2 years old): Nursery care is provided for families during every service. Our goal is to create a warm and safe environment for our newborns and toddlers to experience the love of Jesus.

Children's Church (3-5 years old): Classes are offered during every service to children ages 3 to 5 years old. Included in these classes are a time for prayer, worship, teaching, crafts, and snacks.

Children's Church (6- 12 years old): Flames of FIRE meets every Sunday. We bring the children a message from the Bible each week. Our children are given opportunity to worship, pray, and hear from God.

Youth

FIRE’s youth ministry has three main goals. Our first goal is with God’s help to bring teenagers into a closer and more intimate walk with the Lord. Secondly, to encourage friendships with one another that will bring them closer to God. Third, to be an example of God’s kingdom through worship, relationships, and evangelism.

We meet every Tuesday at 7:00 pm, with each week alternating between a Youth Service and a night of fellowship.

Men

When you think of the word “firemen”, you typically would think of men who are employed to put out fires. Well, here at FIRE Church, the purpose of our men’s ministry is to ignite fires wherever we go. It’s our desire that the men of fire (fire men!) would grab hold of the revelation that the Kingdom of God is within them. Through our regularly scheduled activities, our monthly men’s breakfasts, and our periodic retreats, the men at FIRE are connected with other men who will encourage them and stand with them as they’re equipped to fulfill God’s purposes in this generation.

Women

The FIRE Church women's ministry encourages women to be demonstrations of the Lord's character and love in the home, in the market place and in the community around them. Through Bible study, times of corporate worship, practical tips for homemaking and for daily disciplines, as well as fun times of fellowship, the women are challenged to grow in the ways of the Lord and to deepen relationships with one another.

Life Groups

Life Groups are part of the core vision of FIRE Church, providing an opportunity for fellowship, personal ministry, and the development of individuals in their spiritual walks and giftings. Each life group operates uniquely as an expression of the people in that group. We place prominence on these home meetings as a vital part of community growth and biblical Christian life. Much of the ministry at FIRE Church takes place in these informal, family oriented gatherings.
