Scriptures to Build Your Faith

ISAIAH 53:4-6

“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.  But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.”

“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.”

“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord“He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lordwho is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.””
ISAIAH 26:3-4
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”
ISAIAH 40:31

“But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”

1 JOHN 5:14-15

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.”

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

1 PETER 5:7

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”

A new coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged late last year and was first reported in Wuhan, China on December 31, 2019.  Since its initial discovery and report, COVID-19 has spread to over 168 different countries in an extremely short amount of time and has accounted for over 209,000 confirmed cases and over 8,700 deaths.

The World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global health emergency in January and now has officially classified it as a pandemic by the Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC).

  1. Our first response to this virus was to pray and worship.  (This has allowed us to gain a higher perspective and not react impulsiveley.)
  2. Our next response was to seek the Lord for supernatural wisdom and discernment.  (This allowed us to recognize our utter dependence upon God and to humble ourselves to a position where we could commit to obey Him quickly and fearlessly, regardless of how disruptive the plans may be.)
  3. Our third response was to ask how we could best love our neighbors.  (This has led us to our decisions concerning large corporate gatherings and how they would affect the weak and the vulnerable around us – those we are called to care for and protect.)

After worshiping and seeking the Lord’s guidance in this manner, our FIRE Church leadership team has chosen to respond in faith and not react in fear.  As believers we are called to use our rights, freedom and privileges not to serve ourselves but to serve others.

Therefore, at the request of our government officials, FIRE will be changing the format of our corporate gatherings for the time being.  We will be prepared, vilgilant, generous, thoughtful, brave, joyful, hopeful, and we will never stop worshiping.  Thank you for your understanding and grace as we journey through this crisis together.
